How to Verify Your Business on Facebook (Meta Business Manager)

Step 1: Go to Business Settings

  1. Log in to Meta Business Manager 👉 https://business.facebook.com/settings
  2. Select the Business Account you want to verify.
  3. On the left menu, find Security Centre.

Step 2: Start Verification

  1. Inside Security Centre, look for: Business Verification → Start Verification
  2. If you don’t see it, it means:
  3. You haven’t triggered any features that require verification OR
  4. Your BM is not eligible yet
  5. (Sometimes you must use BM features → create assets → run ads → request WhatsApp API → then verification appears)

Step 3: Enter Your Business Details

  1. You must submit EXACT information as in your legal documents:
  2. Legal Business Name
  3. Registered Address
  4. Phone Number
  5. Website (optional)

Step 4: Upload Your Documents

You must upload at least one document for:

  1. Business Name Verification – Submit ONE of these:
  • SSM Certificate (Form 9)
  • SSM Section 17, 20, 14 (super common in Malaysia)
  • Business Registration Certificate
  • Tax Registration (CP55D, CP500)
  • Utility bill with business name
  • Bank statement with company name
  • Certificate of Incorporation

 

  1. Business Address or Phone Number Verification – Submit ONE of these:
  • Utility bill (TNB / Water / Unifi)
  • Bank statement with address
  • Company phone bill
  • Lease agreement/tenancy
  • Official letter from government with address
  • Invoice issued to your company showing address

Step 5: Domain Verification (Sometimes Required)

If Facebook asks you to prove you control the website → do one of these:

  • DNS TXT record
  • Upload HTML file into your website root folder
  • Add Meta Tag in <head> of homepage

Step 6: Submit & Wait

After submitting:

  • Approval time: 1–5 days normally
  • Sometimes instant if your documents match exactly
  • If rejected → they will tell you which section mismatched


(Name / Address / Document type)

Common Reasons for Rejection

  • Business name in SSM doesn’t match
  • Using personal bill instead of company bill
  • Using outdated SSM documents
  • Address doesn’t match exactly
  • Website doesn’t show the business name

Tips to Get Approved Faster

  • Use fresh SSM documents (less than 12 months old)
  • Make sure company name & address match EXACTLY
  • If your SSM has old address → upload supporting document with new address
  • Use official documents only, not edited or screenshots
